The finalists were presented with certificates, souvenirs and cash awards in the Women's Development Center, Awka after an extensive session of a thorough review of the short listed software entries. Each of the finalists was given the opportunity to exhibit and demonstrate their creation to the judges. Criteria used for reviewing entries were business relevance, technology used, security features, usability and aesthetics of the software developed.

Presenting the NISSCOM awards were Moses Braimah, Corporate Services Senior Manager of SystemSpecs, Rotimi Kehinde, Brand & Marketing Manager of SystemSpecs, Martins Madueke, Outgoing president of NACOSS and Samuel Arabome of the Afrihub ICT Park Project.

The winning entry was Entriflex ERP and CRM Software, developed by Kelvins Aghayedo, a student of the University of Benin. During his presentation, Kelvins demonstrated how the software built using Java technology can solve Customer Relationship Management, staff and payroll challenges.

The two runner-up entries were Online Library System designed by Nuradeen Maidoki of the Kano University of Science and Technology and Mart-Manager 3.0 designed by Iloabachie Chinua of the University of Nigeria.

Entries were declared open to all Nigerian students on the 21st of September, 2006, and closed on the 31st of January, 2007 with 20 finalists emerging as possible winners. Kelvins Aghayedo who came first with 82.2 points on average received the N100, 000 cash price while Nuradeen Maidoki, with 79 points, and Iloabachie Chinua, with 75.2 points, received N 75, 000 and N50, 000 respectively. All the other finalists received N5, 000 each along with a specially packaged array of SystemSpecs souvenirs.

SystemSpecs has once again proudly supported the development of national technology orientation by engaging students in all tertiary institutions in Nigeria with the successful completion of the Nigerian Students Software Competition.
